Books About Sex: Education & Erotica for Women
This just may be our favorite part of the website. We love books. And we think that they can be incredibly helpful and informative. We are lucky that today so many books are available on such a wide range of sexual issues. There are books on how to have an orgasm, how to make love to your partner, how to talk to your children about sex, how to have sex on a swing. There are erotic books and DVDs for every taste and style.
That’s the good news. The bad news is that some of them aren’t very good. Lucky for you, we at MCFS have done much of the hard work for you. Between us, we’ve probably read 1,000 books on sex. And from that we’ve culled the ones we love best and have provided real and honest descriptions of them so you can make a more informed decision. We’ve tried to categorize them below to make hunting easier, but just remember, part of the fun is the hunt, so feel free to click on anything that seems remotely interesting to you. And if you’ve read a book that you think our patients or website visitors would like, send an email and let us know: contact us

In this section we've included our favorite books on problems with orgasm, issues with desire and arousal, techniques for couples and some “general” books on sex. We love these books and we hope you find them helpful too.
Erotica
-
Suggesting erotica, whether written, oral or visual is always a risky business. What one woman finds arousing another finds laughable. What one woman finds a “turn on” another finds “over the top” or “too much.” What one woman finds exciting another may find boring. We are all so individual in our sexual fantasies and likes and dislikes.
We have included only four erotica books. It’s a drop in the bucket. There are hundreds of erotic books out there of every size, shape and predilection. To try to read through them and “review” them would be ludicrous, even if we thought our personal taste in erotica was universal (which we don’t.) So these are just a few books that our staff or patients have read and enjoyed.
Parenting
-
Some people are really uncomfortable talking to their kids about sex. In some ways they may be ahead of the game because at least they know they’re not having productive conversations with their kids about sex. I can’t tell you how many people I know who think they are perfectly comfortable talking about sex but don’t have any conversation because “my kids haven’t brought it up.” Guess what? It’s more than likely that at some point you are going to have to bring it up. These books can help. Some offer advice for you. Some are intended for you to give to your kids and some are designed for you to read with your kids. In any event, trust us that your kids will be better off if you raise the issue either with them or for them and open the conversation.
